The Programme

Easy – Lowland walking, flat or with gentle hills. Ideal for those with little or no experience of walking or cycling.

Moderate – Hills and dales, generally below 1,500 feet.

Strenuous – High level mountain and moorland over 1,500 feet. May involve steep ascents/descents or scrambling.

The onus is on individuals to arrange their own transport to and from hostel weekends. It is not the responsibility of the booking officer or any other member of the committee to arrange transport.

18th June 19.00 Tour de Newport Cycle Ride We had the Tour de Yorkshire, the Tour de France is coming Dave F leads us around the ͚Port. Meeting point top car park Civic Centre. EASY
25th June 19.00 Fourteen Locks Walk No doubt Ivor will have a story to tell on this walk

2nd July 19.00 Blorenge Walk Dave and Sarah lead to one of the Abergavenny Three Peaks and it’s a blinder. MODERATE
9th July 19.00 Treasure Hunt At a location to be announced a devious (we hope) evening of exercise for mind and body.  EASY
16th July 19.00 Pontypool Tower Walk with Alan It would be folly to miss this. MODERATE
23rd July 19.00 Historical Walk with Paul Collins Learn about the history as you walk with our very own Alice Roberts or more so Dan Snow. EASY
30th July 19.00 George Blizzard Memorial Walk We have a jaunt up to Twm Barlwm to remember George where his ashes were scattered. MODERATE
6th Aug 19.00 Cycle Alan is our guide as we get on our bikes again for an evening criterion. EASY
13th Aug 19.00 But it’s not Thursday! Liz draws on her reservoir of Thursday evening walks to lead us on a Monday. EASY
20th Aug 19.00 W(h)ales watching on the Taff Chris and Holly lead us on a weir-d and wander-ful walk in Whitchurch. Doggy paddle friendly.  EASY
27th Aug No Meeting It’s the last Bank Holiday before Christmas.
3rd Sept 19:00 Llandegvedd Walk Trudy leads in a walk around this delightful Monmouthshire village then we can discuss the Archers in the Farmers Arms after. EASY

24th-27th Aug August Bank Holiday Weekend at Boswinger If Cornish pasties and clotted cream are for you then this is for you.
1st Sept Sat 10.30 Cycle Alan leads the joint NOG/BRF peleton on a ride in the local area.  MODERATE
15th Sept Sat 10.30 Talybont Trial Why not come along help and then walk the ten mile route with Liz
17th-24th Sept Pembrokeshire Coastal Path That’s right there are two long distance trails this year!
22nd-23rd Sept St Davids Hostel Weekend Join our friends colonial and otherwise who are walking the Coastal Path.
