The Programme

Easy – Lowland walking, flat or with gentle hills. Ideal for those with little or no experience of walking or cycling.

Moderate – Hills and dales, generally below 1,500 feet.

Strenuous – High level mountain and moorland over 1,500 feet. May involve steep ascents/descents or scrambling.

The onus is on individuals to arrange their own transport to and from hostel weekends. It is not the responsibility of the booking officer or any other member of the committee to arrange transport.
PLEASE ARRIVE AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE THE START FOR EVENTS

The Rhymney Valley Ridgeway – Part 1.
A further, new, section of last year’s walk, led by Juping. Railway fare needed.

The Red and the Black Darren.
Ian leads us on a varied mountain and valley walk in the Black Mountains, near the site of the fictional book and film, On the Black Hill. 8 miles, Moderate grade. Meet 9.30 am, Discovery Park (Wickes), NP20 5GN.

Avon Gorge and Bristol Harbour Circuit.
A varied and interesting area for Clive’s first walk as a leader. Includes Clifton Downs, the Suspension Bridge, historical sites and a wooded gorge. It’s a good-un by all accounts ! 7½ miles. Meet 9.30 am, Discovery Park (Wickes), NP20 5GN.

The Rhymney Valley Ridgeway – Part 2.
Juping’s continues her series of such walks from last summer. Quiet paths and lanes are counter-balanced by ridge top views. An A-to-B walk after a railway journey. Meet 8.45 am, Discovery Park (Wickes), NP20 5GN.
